      The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one (1) regular position in the class of Parks and Facilities Worker I/II at the General Services department. At the discretion of the hiring authority and depending on the candidate's background and experience, the selected candidate will be assigned to either the Parks and Facilities Worker I or II level. The combined annual salary range for both the Parks and Facilities Worker levels is $45,635. - 59,758.


      The Position

      The Parks and Facilities Worker performs a variety of duties in the landscape and maintenance of county parks, grounds, and facilities such as conducting routine maintenance and general construction related to parks facilities; assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair of manual and automated irrigation systems; and maintenance and repair of tools and equipment.

      Work schedules: The selected candidate will be assigned to work one of the following schedules:
      • Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
      • Monday - Friday from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

      • Irrigation repair and maintenance experience preferred

      Parks and Facilities Worker I
      Education:
      Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to ensure the ability to read and write at a level required for successful job performance; AND
      Experience: Six (6) months of full-time experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping work.

      Parks and Facilities Worker II
      Education: Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to ensure the ability to read and write at a level required for successful job performance; AND
      Experience: One (1) year of full-time experience performing duties equivalent to a Parks and Facilities Maintenance Worker I in Yolo County; or two (2) years of experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping work, including some experience in landscape design and/or general facilities maintenance.

      License
      Positions in this classification require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical or mental disability may request a reasonable accommodation.
