- Support the creation of and maintaining an inclusive, caring, respectful, positive classroom community on campus and virtually as needed for children
- Support the children’s participation in all classroom activities at an individualized, developmentally appropriate level
- Support the creation of curriculum design and learning experiences to ensure the development of each child’s potential
- Support and/or lead lessons
- Supporting each child's development
- Document each child and daily class observations; keep anecdotal records
- Participate in child study meetings
- Continuously scaffold each child to ensure ongoing growth

- Ability to comply with the Teachers College Minors on Campus Policies as well as New York City Bureau of Child Care requirements including all mandatory trainings

- Ability to adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism

- Must have Covid vaccine and booster

Posting Summary:
The Hollingworth Preschool at Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a Part Time Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our on campus preschool team. The incumbent will demonstrate a desire to learn pedagogical methodology in the early childhood classroom, the cross domain development of very young children, support a teacher and child led curriculum, and the essential role of play. The Part Time Assistant Preschool Teacher will work under the direction of the preschool director and collaboratively with the preschool teachers. The incumbent will work 20 - 27 hours per week. Compensation includes an hourly salary of 20.00 and 9 credits of exemption allocated as follows: 3 credits fall term, 3 credits spring term, 3 credits summer term.
