      Cross-utilized Agent

      Are you passionate about customer service and travel, with an interest in working at an airport or around airplanes? Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors in all types of weather?       If yes, then you’re a great candidate for a role as a Cross Utilized Customer Service/Ramp Agent with United Ground Express, a subsidiary of United Airlines.

      Cross-utilized Agents do it all. They help passengers throughout the airport as well as prepare gate areas for aircraft arrival and prepare aircraft for flight dispatch.

      In the Lobby

      • Make every interaction a positive one through kind communication
      • Assist passengers with a smile through arrival and check-in processes, including support for passengers with special needs such as unaccompanied minors, and passengers needing wheelchair assistance
      • A customer service agent is expected to be friendly, prompt, and courteous
      • You will provide assistance for people who are checking-in, making reservations, rebooking flights, and checking in baggage.
      • Resolve disservice situations like determining alternative flight options or rebooking a reservation when delays, cancellations or misconnections occur
      • Make informed decisions in sometimes stressful situations

      Working on the Ramp

      • You will be working outside year-round in all kinds of weather
      • Plenty of physical activity, as you will be loading and unloading aircraft with as many as 100 bags per flight, some weighing as much as 70 lbs.

      What will my schedule look like?

      • This is a union position based on seniority. You will be assigned your initial schedule and will then have the opportunity to make a bid for your desired shift after your initial schedule period ends
      • You may be required to work mandatory overtime based on operational need
      • Must be able to work during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays
      • Punctuality and reliability are essential
      • As you gain seniority, you can trade days with colleagues, pick up extra hours and have more control over your schedule

      UGE requirements

      • Minimum of 18 years old
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
      • Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal Service) per local requirements
      • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
      • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
      • Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record
