      This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.

      Job Description
      The part-time Family & Consumer Sciences Clerk UGA Extension position requires clear and concise verbal and written communication with program participants, community groups, the public and staff. In addition, this position requires responding to basic Family and Consumer Sciences inquires and triage more complicated questions to a higher-level staff.

      Essential Duties
      • Prepare educational handouts and assemble supplies for classes, programs and events
      • Assist with registering class participants (virtually or in person)
      • Assist with the prep preparation and distribution of activity kits for hands-on learning labs
      • Collect program evaluations
      • Provide educational assistance with walk-in front desk customers needing guidance on food safety, hot to properly conduct radon testing, and canner testing
      • Communicate the objectives and activities of the program
      • Perform related duties as assigned
      Public Speaking Duties
      • Assist with events such as Gwinnett Extension's annual plant sale and 4-H Farm Friends and be able to communicate effectively in-person with groups of patrons
      • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement a public relations agenda to promote student learning]
      Other Job Requirements/Information
      • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays

      Hourly rate
      The hourly rate for this position is $16.80

      Minimum Qualifications
      • High School Diploma AND
      • 1 year of administrative or customer service experience
        • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
