What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Improve spatial and temporal metadata associated with biosamples from natural eukaryotic populations
- Conduct literature searches and contact dataset authors to collect relevant metadata
- Assess and utilize genetic diversity data for conservation decisions
- Handle between 50 and 150 datasets (NCBI BioProjects)
- Attend orientation sessions and weekly check-ins with GEODE personnel
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Basic skills with spreadsheets and text files
- Literature search and professional email writing skills
- Interest or experience in population genomics and genetic biodiversity research
- No specific coding skills required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in data curation and informational reading of scientific literature
