Until Filled - BCIT’s Adult Education division is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Part-Time Instructor to teach Introduction to Fashion to adult learners. This foundational course explores fashion design principles, textiles, industry trends, and the full design-to-production process. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering creative expression while equipping students with practical, real-world skills for entry into the fashion industry.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field (preferred)
Prior teaching or industry experience in fashion design or related fields
Strong understanding of current fashion trends, design tools, and materials
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to engage and support adult learners from diverse backgrounds
Evening availability required
Experience in sewing, pattern making, and/or fashion software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D)
Portfolio of personal or student work encouraged for review
Must pass a criminal history background check
Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status required
Must establish NJ residency within one year of hire
Drug testing required
