Job Description

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Secretarial Skills (Typing, filing, recordkeeping)
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents
- Computer knowledge and skills
- Introduces students to the library, resources and policies
- Helps students locate appropriate books and use CD-ROM and other reference materials
- Assists in student instruction, enrichment and library skills
- Supervises volunteers and student aides
- Responsible for library circulation with the use of Follett Software Program
- Uses computer to generate overdue lists, transaction data, and do periodic backups, etc…
- Maintains all files, electronic, card, vertical, etc.
- Shelves and maintains proper order of all books and materials (or supervises shelving and shelf reading)
- Operates computers, etc.
- Operates, maintains and repairs A-V equipment
- Makes simple repairs on books and materials
- Oversees the general appearance of the library and its bulletin boards and other displays
- Assists in the annual inventory of library materials and the preparation of lists of missing books and books to be discarded
- Maintains overdue book list and sends fine notices when necessary
- Adheres to all District health and safety policies
- Is punctual and maintains regular attendance

Position qualifications:
Position responsibilities include:
Salary: $21.79- 23.46* per hour
*after probationary period if previous experience verified relevant to position (new employees to district only)
Current Location: Grant Watts and Otto Petersen
Hours: 3.75 per day, 8:15 am to 12:00 pm
Full Year Contract: 188 days
