12/22/2023 - Ensures visitors to the Levy Senior Center are greeted and served in a positive, professional manner and are provided correct information regarding programs, memberships, social services and rentals.
- Answer inquires by personal contact, telephone, two-way radio, and electronic mail, and as necessary, forward inquires to appropriate staff. Greet, provide program details, and register patrons for district programs and events.
- Processing program registrations and withdrawals as well as assisting with class cancellations/expansions
- Oversee cash drawer and balance receipts, securing monies and receipts.
- Possesses a clear understanding of financial transactions including daily revenues, accurate daily balances, and knowledge of cash management
- Receive payments for programs, events, and services.
- Maintain records and files relating to registration and other department functions.
- Checks facility schedule for rental availability
- Responsible for keeping reception desk and lobby area organized and neat.
- Responsible for operating office equipment such as desktop computer operating system, cash register, mailroom equipment, photocopier, and other standard office equipment
- Assist staff with clerical duties, including data entry.
- Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or higher
- Must possess two (2) or more years of relevant experience in an office setting, preferably in an administrative or clerical role
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and comfortable working independently
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Must be committed to providing outstanding customer service and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills and ability to operate general office equipment such as personal computer, software, telephone equipment, fax machine, credit card machines, calculator, copiers, book keeping , and filing systems.
- Ability to communicate, read and interpret manuals, safety instructions, professional and technical journals, and apply instruction and to provide written or verbal summary and narrative as required
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
- Possession of basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percent, rate, ratio, decimals and fractions).
- Perform arithmetic operation involving all American monetary units.

*Starting salary is dependent upon qualifications, but in most cases is no higher than the midpoint for range.
Weekly Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1:30pm-5:30pm.
NATURE OF WORK :
Under the administrative direction of the Recreation Manager / Program Coordinator this position provides reception / clerical support which includes; but not limited to processing program registration and daily receipts, assist with scheduling of facility rentals, mail distribution, answers incoming telephone calls, maintain offices supplies and equipment. Individuals assigned to this position will normally perform the routine and repetitive clerical duties independently and according to well-known procedures and practices, but will perform more complex assignments under close and frequent supervision. Employee in this position will be required to know basic principles of modern clerical practices. This position is part-time and works 25 hours/week.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF WORK :
The ability to work in a primarily sedentary position, with the ability to occasionally use force to exert up to 10 pounds. The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects, books, materials, etc. using up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from indoor temperature changes.
There are no environmental hazards associated with this classification.
SUPERVISION :
Work is performed under the general direction/supervision of the RecreationManager/ and Program Coordinator and/or his/her designee. Assignments may vary from season to season and day to day. Assignments can be either verbal or written, with the employee determining proper procedure and work methods and is responsible for completing the work according to City work rules and safety regulations. Work is reviewed through ongoing observation, written and verbal communication, meetings and feedback from supervisors and other department employees. Guidance is provided through rules and regulations, policies and procedures, Unified Work Rules, Union Contract, Personnel Rules and OSHA. Work is evaluated at least annually for the safe and skilled operation of equipment, quality of tasks, adherence to work rules, and performance in accordance with this classification standard.
PUBLIC CONTACT :
The employee may need to respond to questions and complaints and provide general direction to the general public; the employee has regular contact with other City employees in order to share information and complete work assignments.
