- Performs annual nutrition evaluations with recommendations on all individuals as needed.
- Consults with individuals regarding specific nutritional concerns as needed.
- Provides periodic follow-up on individuals. This will require going to the individuals' CSAAC residences.
- Consults with direct-support staff and supervisors regarding specific individuals' nutritional concerns and food safety issues as needed.
- Consults with physicians regarding specific individual health and nutrition concerns as needed.
- Consults with nurses regarding specific individual nutritional concerns as needed.
- Prepares menus with opportunities for individualized choices.
- Performs kitchen audits and inspect for proper food safety.
- Provides food safety and nutrition training to direct-staff and supervisors.
- Provides food preparation class for the individuals in the Vocational program.
- Leads the emergency food supply program; purchases supplies and coordinates distribution efforts.
- Performs other pertinent duties as assigned by the Director.
- Abides by the conditions of the CSAAC employment agreement.
- Adheres to CSAAC policies and procedures, applicable regulations of federal, state, local laws, and accreditation standards.
- Adheres to mandatory use of CIMS system to access, send email and access and report health information, data and incidents for individuals supported in CSAAC program. Adheres to mandatory use of 2interactHRM software for Human Resource and Accounting related duties.
- Completion and demonstration of techniques taught in the Behavioral Principles and Strategies Training (BPST).
- Successfully complete annual recertification of the BPST.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Dietitian reports directly to the Executive Director. The dietitian is a member of the healthcare team. The primary responsibility of the Dietitian is to ensure that the individuals served by CSAAC are supported in achieving good health through proper nutrition and proper food safety, and to do so with integrity. Must be highly organized, have good time management, management experience, and good interpersonal skills. This is a full-time position with occasional work on weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master's degree in dietetics and nutritional sciences. A registered dietician; meeting requirements for licensure as a dietician by the Maryland State Department of Health.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a registered dietician. Managerial experience and working in a community-based program setting preferred.

Skills: Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise patience, caring and concern in new and sometimes stressful situations. Good organizational skills and attention to detail needed to maintain information files on individuals served. Computer literacy required, with a basic competency in standard business software applications (i.e., word processing, e-mail and spreadsheets).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Employee must be able to effectively complete a non-adverse physical intervention with autistic individuals of varying heights, weights and levels of physical strength according to the guidelines presented in Behavioral Principles and Strategies training.
