What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct database searches, particularly focusing on newspapers and periodicals
- Perform bibliographic research and literature reviews to support the biography project
- Engage in digital and archival research to gather relevant information
- Scan and digitize documents as needed for research purposes
- Collaborate with Professor Shirley Moody-Turner and contribute to the project effectively
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Demonstrated research skills in digital, archival, and bibliographic areas
- Knowledge of 19th-early 20th century American literature and intellectual history
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Keen attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Ability to take initiative and collaborate effectively as part of a team
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in academic research or related fields
- Familiarity with archival research methodologies
- Previous experience in a research assistant role or similar position
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize information
