      The Role
      Liberty Science Center (LSC) is seeking a Sr. Membership Ambassador to join our Membership Team within the External Affairs Department. The Sr. Membership Ambassador supports LSC’s membership team and membership base and conducts general customer service activities. assists with growing and maintaining LSC’s membership program. The Sr. Ambassador is involved in all aspects of member recruitment and retention including providing high touch customer service, overseeing the administration, hygiene and integrity of our membership database, ensuring that membership fulfillment is executed on a timely basis, and engaging in event support as needed.

      The Sr. Membership Ambassador will report to the Director of Membership and Manager of Membership.

      What You’ll Do
      The daily essential functions of the Senior Membership Ambassador are some combination of the following:

      1. Efficiently and accurately answer Membership inquiries in person, by phone, through email and respond to voicemail, and effectively and accurately communicate information on LSC’s current and future exhibits and programs, member benefits, and policies
      2. Effectively and independently problem-solve member issues
      3. Assist with monthly membership renewals process according to schedule
      4. Communicate, supply, and work directly with Box Office Guest Ambassadors on related membership issues, policies, and promotions
      5. Enter transactions into Tessitura (CRM system) with 100% accuracy following data entry standards and database procedures
      6. Provide high-quality customer service to LSC members and potential members (online ticket purchasers, walk-up customers) at check-in and ensure all guests are well informed on all currently available LSC experiences and membership proposition
      7. Review and edit existing Tessitura records to maintain database hygiene and integrit
      8. Handle returned mail and email
      9. Monitor and maintain collateral inventory
      10. Other responsibilities, as needed

      Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

      1. Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment. Computer acumen
      2. Skills necessary: data entry accuracy, excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
      3. Professional manner and independent judgment
      4. Ability to prioritize multiple projects, interact with a diverse public audience, maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor, and work as part of a team or independently

      Preferred Qualifications

      1. 1+ years of customer service experience
      2. Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
      3. Ability to act with patience, cultural competency, and a high degree of diplomacy when interacting with the public
      4. Working knowledge of a membership-related database, preferably Tessitura
      5. Dependable
      6. Proactive and flexible
      7. Digitally savvy
      8. High degree of professionalism and tact; understanding of office protocols

      Classification and Schedule
      The Part-Time Sr. Membership Ambassador will work approximately 24 hours per week. The ideal candidate must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as business needs or special events may require.

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work in a standard open floor office environment, which includes a combination of sedentary work at a laptop and on the phone as well as standing for long periods of time while working with staff on the museum floor to prepare for events or fill in for staff on the floor. The ability to lift 20 pounds is required.

      Work Location
      Liberty Science Center is located in a beautiful waterfront state park in Jersey City, New Jersey.       Compensation & Benefits
      The Sr. Membership Ambassador is compensated at a rate of $19.00/hour. Liberty Science Center also provides perks for all eligible part-time employees, including:
