      As Parts and Service Marketing Manager, you will direct the parts and service development process and product support strategy group. You will create common enterprise sales effectiveness capability, parts and service processes, and related corporate strategies to integrate parts, service, equipment management, and marketing processes into a clear overall product support strategy for the enterprise. Results in communication and goal alignment between Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD), component product groups, Resource Industry (RI) prime product groups, and global Resource Industries Sales, Services & Technology Division (RISST) / Global Construction Industry (GCI) marketing groups to implement processes and strategies that achieve the business results and strategic objectives.

      Reporting directly to this position typically are 5 to 8 direct reports including supervisors, subject matter experts (SME’s) focused on parts products or product support operations processes, marketing consultants, and Black Belts. In cases where direct product development is part of the incumbent’s accountabilities, an engineering manager and/or NPI manager may be part of their responsibilities.

      What you will do:

      • Develop and integrate a Product Support Strategy and process to align product support parts and service focus.

      • Develop and integrate a company-wide product support common goal agreements with marketing organizations annually to align resources and focus to support growth and development goals.

      • Lead Parts and Service Development to create company-wide parts and service processes.

      • Manage the division capital and expense to plan.

      • Use our personnel talent match process to match talent to position and enable a high-performance group environment. Sponsor 6 Sigma projects.

      The position manages a work unit of primarily management/professional employees where monitoring and reviewing the work of subordinates is required as well as training, developing, and mentoring.

      The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.

      Typical internal customers include various contacts throughout Caterpillar worldwide and its subsidiaries. External contacts include various customers and vendors throughout worldwide markets. The position often confronts complex issues or problems that require careful analysis and diagnosis. Problems are often unique and solutions can require original approaches.

      The incumbent may modify existing approaches or develop new solutions. The incumbent establishes and then monitors general policies and guidelines for projects under his/her control to ensure specific, management goals are met and desired results are achieved. Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Efficiency, Cost Savings, and Other Measures, Develop a product support marketing process model, "go to market" methodology which provides effectiveness and efficiency metrics for product support sales and customer relationship opportunity analysis for the company, etc. The position works to develop innovative processes or methods to best use resources or

      technology in meeting the quality goals.

      What skills you will have:

      The position requires thorough knowledge of company products and product applications, merchandising programs, and/or warranty practices and procedures.

      Broad company knowledge and a strong understanding of dealer operations are also required.

      Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.

      Excellent capabilities of working across the enterprise to ensure alignment between product, marketing, and sales organizations.

      Leadership skills.

      Degree and Experience Requirement:

      College or university degree or equivalent experience.

      12 years of progressively responsible job-related experience.

      Additional information:

      The location for this position is Peoria, IL, or Tucson, AZ.

      This position will require 25 % travel.
