      Location: Winston Salem, NC – Forsyth Medical Center

      Department: Anatomic Pathology
      Schedule: Part-Time | Day Shift | M-F 12:00p to 8:30p

      What You’ll Do:

      As a Pathology Tech I, you’ll be a vital part of our Anatomic Pathology team, supporting the daily operations of specimen processing and laboratory preparation. Under the supervision of a pathologist or lab supervisor, you'll help ensure accurate diagnostic results by:

      • Assisting with grossing, embedding, and staining tissue samples
      • Preparing and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment
      • Ensuring specimen integrity and timely workflow
      • Upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and confidentiality

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
      • Associate’s degree in laboratory sciences or related field (preferred)
      • Previous laboratory or histology experience a plus

      Qualifications

      • Education: High School Diploma or GED. required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Chemical, Physical or Biological Science, preferred.
      • Experience: One year of relevant pathology and/or cytology specimen processing experience, preferred.
      • Additional Skills Required:
        • Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks.
        • Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results.
        • Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations.
        • Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
        • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public.
        • Ability to follow written protocols.
        • Ability to follow written protocols.
        • Ability to work independently.
        • Ability to communicate clearly.
