Under limited supervision, the Pathway Navigator: Corrections Specialist is a part time position that will provide intensive community outreach to increase enrollment in post-secondary training and education, and other work-based learning opportunities for eligible incarcerated individuals. The Navigator will work in collaboration with the Iowa Department of Corrections on the recruitment, assessment, and development of an education pathway for incarcerated individuals from intake to re-entry which will integrate skills assessments, basic skills remediation, technical training, and other education programming that could include Second Chance Pell. Pathway Navigators are responsible for providing direct service to participants in all PACE (Pathways for Academic Career and Employment Act, 2014 Iowa Code Chapter 260H) related programs and services at Southeastern Community College. The Pathway Navigator will focus specifically on the identification, recruitment, and case-management support of individuals eligible for PACE program support services and will assist the Director in development, facilitation, reporting, and evaluation of PACE program activities.This position is a half-time position (1044 hours per year). The starting salary is $21,000 per year.

The Pathway Navigator: Corrections Specialist will be assigned to a regional area of the state and will operate out of specific correctional institutions (Iowa State Penitentiary and Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility) and SCC West Burlington Campus. Must be able to work on a basis of “available as work demands” in addition to a fixed schedule, which may include evenings and weekends.The Pathway Navigator: Corrections Specialist will abide by the employment contract and relevant policies and guidelines of the Board of Trustees.
Continued employment is contingent upon the continuation of grant funding.About the company
