      Patient Access Associate

      Wage Range

      Minimum: $47,709 to Maximum: to $52,418. The salary range or contractual rate listed is subject to applicable differentials for experience, shift, certification or education.

      Requirements

      * High School Graduate or GED
      * Successful completion of a course in billing.
      * Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
      * Computer / Data entry skills.
      * Ability to speak and communicate clearly.
      * Knowledge of medical terminology

      Job Description

      The Patient Access Associate is responsible for performing detailed medical record/patient look up confirming patient identifiers to avoid duplicate medical record. Register and interview patients and/or designated representative at point of service, or at bedside, to verify demographic, insurance and primary care physician information. Process to include insurance verification and eligibility, identification of PCP; includes NYCDOH birth and death registration. Monitor ED tracking board; timely bed assignments from ED and direct admits. Processes elective surgery procedures to include financial clearance. Prepares end of shift census reports for management. Scans Fiscal Intermediary documents.
