      Patient Access Coordinator

      Full-Time

      Overview:

      Under the guidance of either an Assistant Director, Director and/or Executive Leadership, the PAS Coordinator is responsible for provisional leadership. As lead Registration personnel on-site, the PAS Coordinator assists the management team in overseeing the day to day activities of a Patient Access area.

      The PAS Coordinator is a super-user of Epic registration and all systems and tools used by the department. The Coordinator is able to proficiently perform all routine patient access tasks in addition to duties incidental to the work described herein. This requires intimate knowledge of the department and hospital policies, services, layout and organization.

      The PAS Coordinator assists in the new hire interviewing and onboarding processes, job training, education and registration support. The Coordinator runs reports, distributes work assignments, and reviews PAS efforts for quality and achievement of PI initiatives. During monitoring efforts, the Coordinator may be first to identify a need and therefore offer real-time in-servicing or training for PAS staff. Additionally, the Coordinator provides feedback to department leadership regarding performance issues of the department staff and overall effectiveness of department policies, procedures and practices.

      The PAS Coordinator manages staff schedules and coverage, directs the work of others, and monitors key metrics. The Registration Coordinator responds timely to the needs of registration front-line staff and serves as a strategic first assist in resolving escalating front-end matters and/or whenever there is a need for service recovery.

      The person in this role also serves as a change agent; implementing new initiatives, actively participating in performance improvement activities, assisting with reporting of statistics and ensuring compliance of all work related activities. You will also serve as a knowledgeable resource to the team for Registration, Scheduling, and MyChart set up workflows for telehealth

      Qualifications

      Requirements

      • Bachelors degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of patient access experience as a lead or in a supervisory role.
      • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in office automated tools: e-mail, outlook and data entry.
      • Demonstrated track record of learning technical processes and technical nuances
      • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and front end role in revenue cycle: insurance benefits collection, point of service collections, verification, authorization, pre-certification, etc.
      • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications: Word, Excel, Outlook.
      • Proficiency in EPIC Prelude and Cadence
      • Performs accurate typing at 45-60 wpm
