      We are searching for a talented Patient Access Intake Specialist

      *$900 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)*

      Hours: 24hrs

      Shift: Day/Evening shift, 8:30am - 5:00pm

      Location: Southcoast Business Center - Fairhaven, MA

      Responsibilities

      Under the general direction of the Manager, Patient Service Center or designee, perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access to physician practice services throughout Southcoast Physicians Group. Ensure patient compliance with applicable organization policy and obtain accurate patient information to ensure patient safety and satisfaction, while ensuring optimal reimbursement to the organization in accordance with various external regulations. Work as liaison between insurance carrier, physician office and other clinical services both within and without system wide departments to assure coordination of care, patient satisfaction and that all authorizations and referrals for all services are in place prior to service. Using critical thinking skills to insure appropriate CPT/ICD-9 codes are documented for appropriate service and payment.

      Qualifications

      • Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Bachelors Degree preferred.
      • Certificate in Medical Terminology is preferred.
      • CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manage) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) is preferred.
      • Previous call center or customer service experience is preferred.
      • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and other software programs is preferred.
      • Very good organizational skills are required.
      • Over three (3) years of related healthcare experience, including working with third party payers is preferred.
      • CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manage) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) preferred.
      • Medical Terminology Certificate preferred.
      • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

      Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

      Pay Range

      USD $16.55 - USD $27.78 /Hr.
