What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage the patient registration process, including verifying identity and selecting the correct patient record
- Review schedules and physician orders to register patients for appropriate services
- Explain and complete regulatory and compliance documents while adhering to privacy standards
- Greet patients and families, answer questions, and guide them to the appropriate service area
- Perform scheduling, pre-admission, and discharge duties as necessary
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of two years of customer service and/or data entry experience
- Six months of previous healthcare experience is a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency in computer keyboarding skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication in both oral and written formats
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of third-party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding, and medical terminology
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of two years of experience
