What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule patient appointments for various services, including diagnostic and surgical procedures
- Verify and obtain necessary demographic and insurance information from patients
- Register patients and accurately enter data into the scheduling system
- Meet individual quality metrics in a call center environment
- Participate in departmental committees and champion opportunities for improvement
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of Patient Access experience for internal candidates or 1 year of experience with an Associate's Degree, or 2 years of experience in lieu of a degree for external candidates
- Ability to meet or exceed BHSF registration accuracy and productivity standards for the past 6 months
- Detail-oriented with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and Medicare compliance
- Familiarity with insurance contracts and scheduling protocols
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR applications
