      8:00a-4:30p / Full Time / 40hrs

      Description

      JOB DESCRIPTION:

      • Registers or pre-registers patients by conducting the patient interview to obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information.
      • Patient is processed in a professional and efficient manner to avoid delay of treatment.
      • Obtains complete and accurate financial information for correct billing and to secure reimbursement.
      • Utilizes required registration forms and obtains appropriate signature(s).
      • Processes appropriate patient labels for positive patient identification.
      • Maintains database integrity by accurately identifying the correct patient to register and reservation to upgrade.
      • When appropriate, creates a new medical record and/or account number.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree or 2 years PAS/Bus. Office experience required.
      • Must achieve HFMA or NAHAM Certification within 1 year of hire.
      • (CHAA or CPAR.).
      • If Associates or Bachelor's degree; experience in Admission/Registration, Business Office Experience or Healthcare related preferred otherwise Two (2) years experience in Admission/Registration, Business Office Experience required.
      • Ability to register in all registration areas with willingness to float to those sites as patient load requires.
      • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours.
      • Demonstrated knowledge.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Light); 11-20 lbs ,0-33% of the workday (occasionally); 01-10 lbs 34-66% of the workday (frequently) Negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly), Lifting 20 lbs max, Carrying of objects up to 10 lbs, Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional to frequent sitting; close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

      ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
