      As Patient Advocacy Manager in Italy, you will play a pivotal role in channelling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives.

      Market Access & Government Affairs Department has a key role to ensure patient access to medicines as soon as possible without any regional inequality. We strive for continuous flexibility, which helps us to adapt to changing conditions at an early stage and to represent our interests towards decision-makers in the healthcare system.

      As Patient Advocacy Manager you will be responsible for supporting and developing relationships with Patient Associations whose diseases are aligned to AstraZeneca strategic therapeutic areas.

      MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      Reporting to the Head of External Communication & Patient Advocacy, the role broadly includes the following key components:

      • Establish links and relationships with patient advocacy groups,identify emerging area partners and build new relationships with those organizations/alliances related to improve patient access to healthcare and medicines
      • Serve as a primary point of contact for patient advocacy groups across Italy working cross-functionally to coordinate and manage regular communications to ensure meaningful and constructive partnerships
      • Be responsible of the development of annual External Patient Engagement and Advocacy plan and execution by maintaining an understanding of both national and global priorities
      • Strictly liaise with the Head of Government Affairs and RAM Network to ensure patients’ needs are properly taken into consideration by Government and Regions as well as with the Communication Manager to ensure communication opportunities are maximized
      • Identify, initiate and oversee strategic patient advocacy programs and partnerships related to disease awareness and education, diagnosis, access to appropriate care
      • Contribute to the alignment of the cross-functional team (access, medical, marketing, business and innovation) by identifying and analysing trends and / or changes, thus anticipating any implications for the business
      • Gain an in-depth understanding of patient care and the stakeholder ecosystem and ensure to spread increasingly a patient-centric corporate culture, which focuses on the development of solutions "with patients"
      • Manage all activities and Account relationship according with Company Values, Code of Conduct, Guidelines/Internal procedures and Italian legislation

      ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

      • Master degree in communication sciences, political sciences, humanistic is preferred
      • Minimum of 6 years of related experience in Patient Advocacy within structured pharmaceutical companies
      • Knowledge of the national political and health context
      • Intuitive, socially intelligent, flexibility and creativity to excel in a rapidly changing environment
      • Proficiency in Italian and English
      • Exceptional sense of ethics
      • Ability to work in a team
      • Leadership skills and interpersonal skills
      • Networking skills
      • Project management

      Desirable requirements

      • Postgraduate studies in health economics, public health
      • Experience in analysing and monitoring health policies
      • Experience in building and developing win-win partnerships with patient associations
