Position Summary
Provides quality patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Works within the guidelines of established practice for the Patient Care Assistant at HMC. Supports the mission, philosophy, and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Assistance with total patient care under the direction of the RN
2. Promotes Patient Safety
3. Promotes and supports an organized work environment
4. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):Required:
None
Preferred:
One year acute care Nursing Assistant experience.
License, Registry or Certification :Required:
State Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification OR non-certified nursing assistant with acute care hospital experience required. CPR certification is required. Crisis Prevention (CPI) training is required, and must be renewed annually. If not certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 6 months. CPI Course will be provided at Hunterdon.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities :Required:
Normal knowledge of basic patient care equipment, wheelchairs, and stretchers. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
