      The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate - Medical Unit - White 10

      Why This Role Is Important?

      White 10 is seeking a Full-time Patient Care Associate (PCA), with Day and Night availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage . White 10, is 20 bed adult inpatient medical unit. The unit serves patients from culturally diverse backgrounds and geographic areas that present with acute and complex medical problems. Patients are generally admitted to our unit from the Emergency Department or as a transfer from one of the intensive care units. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the PCA assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment.

      Schedule

      • Day (7a-7pm) and Night (7pm-7am) shifts
      • 40 or 36 hours per week
      • Mandatory rotational weekend schedule

      What are we looking for?

      • PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs.
      • Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

      • Required: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care.
      • Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR
      • Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire.
