- Surgical Environment Preparation: Set up and maintain the operating room for assigned patients, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile.
- Direct Patient Care: Provide care in accordance with established performance standards, including assisting with patient positioning and ensuring patient safety.
- Room Turnover: Efficiently clean and prepare the operating room between cases to facilitate timely surgical schedules.
- Supply Management: Transport necessary supplies and equipment, restocking as needed to maintain operational readiness.
- End-of-Day Duties: Clean and secure the operating room after the final procedure, preparing it for the next day’s use.
- Accountability: Utilize time effectively, seek additional assignments when tasks are complete, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives by minimizing waste.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is required; prior experience in an operating room or procedural area is preferred.
- Certification: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Skills: Strong technical knowledge, excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Location: MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Medical Center (TMC), Houston, Texas
Shift: Evening Shift, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday; rotating Saturdays and on-call responsibilities
Position Overview: MD Anderson Cancer Center, recognized as the nation's top hospital for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking a dedicated Operating Room Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our esteemed surgical team at the Texas Medical Center location. In this critical role, you will support the surgical team by preparing and maintaining the operating room environment, ensuring efficient workflow, and upholding the highest standards of patient care. This position involves minimal direct patient interaction, as patients are under anesthesia during procedures.
