Job Description

- Provide patient focused disease state education related to Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) and Pulmonary Hypertension associated with Interstitial Lung Disease (PH-ILD) through use of approved materials
- Review with patients the process steps for starting therapy on United Therapeutics (UT) products and the interactions with Specialty Pharmacy
- Provide patients with an overview of approved product information included but not limited to administration, side effects and safety information, and device introduction
- Provide information on publicly approved resources related to or associated with support of patient’s disease state
- Act as a resource for patients during initial product onboarding period
- Assist in the development of training resources and materials
- Work with Clinical Product Training (CPT) team to have complete understanding of patient training and support with Specialty Pharmacy
- Attend and participate in pertinent programs related to UT products and disease states, as directed by management to maintain high level competency
- Coordinate and facilitate the connection between patients and program approved, patient-based resources
- Use proprietary Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to maintain accurate records, track calls, correspondence, and related activities
- Communicate with healthcare providers, patients and their authorized representatives as needed
- Ensure accurate reporting of calls and activities to Management
- Ensure all department records are current, accurate, and well maintained
- Triage inquiries appropriately
- Escalate issues as per established escalation protocols
- Follow UT code of conduct, policies and procedures, standard operating procedures and other business rules applicable to the Virtual Nurse Educator Program
- Report any instances of misconduct or non-compliance with UT policies and procedures
- Provide information and data to management in a timely and complete manner
- Complete assigned training and education requirements
- Perform other duties or support special projects as directed by the Program Director
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSN preferred), or related field of study
- 2+ years of experience working in cardiology, pulmonology, respiratory therapy
- Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a larger team
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Project Management skills
- Strong teaching and presentation skills
- Candidate must be able to work from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time
- 2+ years of nursing experience
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Active Nursing License
- Experience working with pulmonary diseases such as Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and Pulmonary Hypertension associated with Interstitial Lung Disease
- Multi-lingual is a plus
- Working knowledge of Specialty Pharmacy

How you’ll contribute
The Patient Education Specialist (PES) is an educational resource tasked to educate patients on United Therapeutics approved therapies and medical devices via virtual settings (telephonic and virtual applications). Education will include, but not be limited to disease state information, product and device usage, available resources and the onboarding process that includes Specialty Pharmacy interactions. The PES will also assist in developing curriculum and resources used to conduct the educational interactions. The PES will work remotely from their home office, located anywhere in the continental US.

The salary for this position ranges from $74,000 to $95,000 per year . In addition, this role is eligible for the Company’s short-term and long-term incentive programs.
The salary range is the range United Therapeutics Corporation in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
