General Summary: The Patient Greeter welcomes and assists patients, their families and visitors entering the clinics. Employees and volunteers working in this capacity answer questions, provide information and direct people to the clinic location they need, thus creating an atmosphere in the clinic that is welcoming, caring and Como Familia.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.General Requirements: All duties performed will be done accurately and in a timely manner.
1. Ensures customer service is always maintained at the highest level.
2. Exercise tact and courtesy when dealing with patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers.
3. Must always adhere to customer service expectations including in-person and virtual (via telephone, or telehealth applications) communication.
4. English and Spanish proficiency preferred.
5. Strong organizational skills are a requirement in this position.
6. May need to travel to support patient care at another GMG location.
7. This position may require driving a company vehicle or a personal vehicle; therefore, employees must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess, and maintain a current valid Texas Driver License, and proof of current insurance to be subject for mileage reimbursement.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Cordially greets visitors and patients upon arrival. Ascertains patients’ and or visitors’ needs and directs them accordingly.
2. This position will require prolonged standing and walking throughout the assigned shift.
3. Aids patients and visitors by obtaining wheelchairs, or other services as needed. Escorts or transports patients who need help to their destination within the clinic.
4. Assists patients who require minimal physical assistance with entering or exiting vehicles. Patients who require additional physical support are referred to the clinical team for required assistance.
5. Assists patients in arranging transportation as needed.
6. Keeps the front driveway clear and unobstructed for patient and visitor drop-off and pick-up.
7. Contacts Security, Environmental Services, or Facilities Management, for assistance when necessary.
8. Monitors the overall appearance of the clinic entrance.
9. Transports patients safely from the following positions: sitting to standing or laying down, from standing to sitting. Pushing/pulling patients in wheelchairs.
10. Must always keep the patients’ safety a priority, which will involve preventing potential falls as needed.
11. Maintains strict confidentiality.
Work Environment: Depending upon the area assigned, may be 100% clinical setting or office setting in a clinical environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. On-site work outside. Works in conditions of heat, cold, wet, dust, rain.
Mental / Physical Requirements: Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting up to 15 lbs. without assistance. Close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work efficiently under pressure.

Qualifications
Education and Training: Minimum high school education or equivalent.
Experience: Experience in a clinic, doctor’s office or hospital with a minimum of one-year experience preferred.
Other Requirements: Computer Skills: Ability to utilize computer-based systems for training as well as clocking in and out for shifts and lunch breaks.
