As a Patient Financial Advisor I, NOA, you will:
•NOA will use a worklist within Cerner to verify payer status.
•NOA will include coverage verifications and authorizations timely and document in the system
•NOA will work with other team members when there is a payer change and obtain retro authorizations for hospitalization.
•Monitors daily census and identify patient’s payer changes accurately.
•Ensures all payer elements and required authorizations are obtained timely where appropriate and within compliance
•Support the Utilization team with payer requests, and where appropriate, provide fax numbers to send clinicals.
•Communicate and respond timely to payer’s requests
•Confirms insurance eligibility for insured patients timely, accurately and updates information in Cerner
Qualifications include:
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment
•Must maintain a high-level confidentiality
•Must work well in stressful environments without compromising quality and accuracy, attention to detail.
•Strong Customer Service skills and documentation in Cerner.
•Ability to participate in an environment that promotes staff development, productivity, satisfaction, and efficiency
•PC skills in a Windows environment are required. Knowledge and utilization of desktop applications including Word and Excel is helpful, ability to navigate the payer portal
•Ability to initiate and follow through on projects and work independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
•High School Diploma or GED required
•Minimum of 2 years experience within a healthcare financial environment. Can include insurer or public health settings as well
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredWork Schedule:
Monday- Friday 8:30 am -5:00 pm and weekends as needed.
