- Manage the RCM Financial Clearance team making sure the team has appropriate policies, procedures, and training to ensure an efficient team.
- Provide training, ongoing communication, and accountability to our clinics regarding all patient financial clearance functions performed by the clinic.
- Manages and provides written communication around insurance requirements regarding referrals and preauthorization’s to the clinics.
- Interacts with regional clinic administration management around denial trends impacted by clinics.
- Works with the coding manager to provide clinics with regular communication concerning best practices around reducing lost revenue tied to improper financial clearance and / or clinical coding practices.
- Works closely with and supports management to meet strategic and project goals.
- Completes audits and audit reports for functional areas of responsibility, reporting to management any concerns.
- Monitors productivity for all projects and functional areas of responsibility, reporting to management any concerns.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.
- Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization.
- 5+ years of experience in the healthcare revenue cycle or clinic front desk operations is required.
- 5+ years of experience working in a clinic’s front desk is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in eligibility & benefit determination for a patient is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above, may be substituted for the above requirements.
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
- Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
- Ability to work successfully under tight timeframes
- Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needs
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Mathematical and/or analytical ability intermediate to complex problem solving
- Intermediate computer operation
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
- This position will have responsibility to oversee internal and outsourced resources within the RCM financial clearance team.

The Patient Financial Clearance Manager will closely work with the U.S. Dermatology’s Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Financial Clearance Team and Clinics to ensure patients are getting financially cleared prior to appointments. This includes validating clinic processes, training, communication, and centralized support to ensure that the majority of our patients are financially cleared.
