- Ensuring the provision of optimum customer service by consulting and assisting patients with Glove/Gauntlet orders and the purchase of post-surgical devices and biologic injections
- Working closely with orthopedic surgeons and their administrators to organize and plan for biologic clinics
- Collecting, verifying and correcting patient demographic information across different digital system platforms
- Generating revenue by assisting patients to investigate insurance coverage, patient accommodation and allocation options
- Performing unit specific activities to ensure the effective operation of the unit, such as ordering product, maintaining stock room and daily financial reporting
- Performing cross-functional support functions, as assigned
- Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
- Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
- Previous mainframe, word processing, database and spreadsheet experience
- Excellent Microsoft office skills including Word and Excel
- Previous working experience with work flow, coordination of information - Pathways Health-care Scheduling (PHS) booking and EPIC skills required
- Knowledge of ORSOS preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and patient/customer services skills; sensitivity to patients and families, fears and anxieties - ability to use good judgment in assessing and/or responding to difficult situations
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Typing skills of 50 words/minute
- Ability to produce detail-oriented, accurate work - ability to establish and adhere to priorities
- Ability to work as part of a team
- One year (1) related experience working in a health care environment preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Must be willing to be cross trained to clinic booking role
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
