Job summary
Colorectal Service is looking to recruit a new member of the team to work within our service. You will join the existing admin and management teams as a specialist Patient Pathway Tracker.
This involves helping to validate waiting lists, correct data, training of staff and overall helping patients progress from GP referral to getting their NHS treatment.
These are computer based roles and involve using various sources of electronic data to ensure all of our patients' journey to treatment happens without delay, and entering data on to our systems as we check and follow our patients to make sure they remain safe at all times.
Main duties of the job
Patient Pathway Tracker's will be responsible for new and follow-up waiting list management and monitoring of RTT pathways. They will be responsible for validating and monitoring the Trust's performance against the Referral to Treatment 18 week waiting time standards and they will work as a member of the pathway tracking clinical team, acting as a local expert on RTT 18 week guidance.
They will pay particular focus to the tracking of overdue follow-up appointments, introducing robust systems to avoid 'loss to follow-up'.
They will also help to ensure patients receive treatment within the required timescales through monitoring and auditing elective patient pathways.

About the company
National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
