      Overview

      M Health Fairview's System Operations Center has a new opportunity for a Patient Placement RN (PPRN). The position is based at our Midway Corporate Campus which is centrally located at 1700 University Ave W in Saint Paul.

      Responsibilities

      The PPRN will collaborate with hospital staff and physicians to support optimal patient flow across the system. Do you have hospital RN experience? This position handles daily shift operations for all internal and external hospital transfers including PACU, ED and procedural areas, in accordance with clinical standards and guidelines. Effective communication is key to success in this role! All directions given by the PPRN create a safe and secure environment.

      Expectations of the PPRN include:

      • Prioritizing patient placement based upon patient need and hospital capacity.
      • Developing relationships with Acute Care site leaders including (e.g. Charge Nurse, Nurse Managers, Director of Nursing, etc.).
      • Understanding of staffing levels on the patient care units based on communication with the staffing office, unit leadership and the Administrative Nursing Supervisor(s).
      • Advocating for and promoting care or service, adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

      Qualifications

      Required

      Education

      Associates Degree in Nursing

      Experience

      3 – 5 years of recent clinical experience as an RN in a hospital setting

      License/Certification/Registration

      MN Registered Nurse License

      Preferred

      Education

      BSN or Master’s in nursing or related field.

      Experience

      5 years of recent clinical experience as an RN in a hospital setting with charge nurse or operations management experience

      3 – 5 years recent patient placement experience
