- Works with PPRN, ADON, doctors, and nursing staff for proper bed placement and admission order entry.
- Updates bed status and Level of Care according to orders released by physicians, nurses and case management.
- Collects information via phone or faxed face sheet to accurately register patients for outpatient, inpatient, and observation services.
- Verifies insurance eligibility.
- Assist with Deaconess wheelchair van dispatch.
- Performs Work Queue functions.
- Performs other logically associated duties that enhance position through Continuous Quality Improvement.
- Serves as a preceptor for new Patient Placement Employees.
- Participates in on-call for third shift.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- College degree desired.
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle preferred.
- Understanding of insurance is a plus.

Job Overview
This position is responsible for proper bed placement of patients in compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations and hospital policies and procedures. Is an ambassador of Deaconess, cultivating a nurturing atmosphere of courtesy, respect, empathy, dignity, and optimism.
