      Employer is seeking motivated Patient Scheduler to support Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This job can be performed 100% remotely.

      Responsibilities:
      - Maintain front office functions: manage inbound telephone calls, assist callers &/or message messages when necessary
      - Manage referral work queues, EPIC in basket messages, online patient scheduling requests, and provider clinic templates
      - Schedule patient appointments in EPIC
      - Verify and update demographic and primary care provider (PCP) information in EPIC
      - Coordinate and obtain referrals and referral authorizations for clinic appointments
      - Retrieve medical records and other medical information as requested
      - Review appropriate reports and work queues for scheduling accuracy
      - Manage incoming faxes and route appropriately
      - Follow HIPAA guidelines at all times while handling sensitive situations involving patients and constituents
      - Attend relevant meetings to facilitate communication of key information regarding patient scheduling or other activities related to the accomplishment of the Division’s clinical activities
      - Provide cross-coverage as required for other patient scheduling roles
      - Participate in all staff meetings within the Division and contribute towards any ongoing staff projects
      - Perform other duties as assigned by the Officer Supervisor, Business Program Manager, Division Director, or Division Head

      Requirements:
      - High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting
      - Prior patient scheduling via electronic medical record system is preferred
      - Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
      - High level verbal and written communication in conjunction with professional telephone etiquette
      - Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times and work with a diversified customer/patient clientele
      - Must be personable, collaborative, and work well under pressure
      - The ability to act independently while also maintaining positive working relationships
      - Must maintain confidentiality at all times; familiarity with HIPAA guidelines strongly preferred
      - Broad knowledge of medical practice front office operations and medical terminology is helpful
