- Demonstrates the ability to effectively collaborate and consult with referral sources, patients, families, and team members. Provides follow up actions as needed.
- Assists patients, family members, and visitors with directions, assisting as needed.
- People/Customer Dashboard/Scorecard indicate progress toward achieving departmental goals in employee and customer satisfaction scores.
- Maintains all equipment needed for transports clean according to Infection Control policies.
- Takes ownership in new employee/student/co-worker on-boarding to enhance retention and reduced turnover of staff as evidenced by vacancy rates.
- Maintains working knowledge of National Patient Safety Goals, to include patient identifiers and HIPPA.
- Safely transports patients using knowledge of Infection Control policies, proper body mechanics, and use of patient identifiers.
- Supports personal departmental productivity through volunteering for and recommending creative changes to include flexing and shift changes to meet the needs of the department.
- Ensures proper supplies in transportation office to facilitate timely transports.
- Assists with obtaining supplies, specimens, and blood products requested and following appropriate procedure for transporting supplies.
- Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations served within the community.
- High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
- 1 year Experience working with the public in a customer service capacity or related (Preferred)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Preferred)

Overview
Works under the supervision of the Supervisor/Manager/Director. Safely and efficiently transports patients, patient's belongings and charts via wheelchair, stretcher, and/or bed. Works as an integral member of the team to assist in transporting specimens, blood, and equipment. Works to ensure that all transport equipment is cleaned and in good working condition.
