What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule and confirm inpatient and outpatient services, managing the verification and pre-authorization process
- Collect and validate patient demographic and insurance information, responding to high call volumes
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and hospitals regarding financial aspects of services
- Assist with the denials and appeals process, ensuring timely communication with patients and relevant departments
- Enter surgical information into the EPIC system for accurate billing and documentation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior experience in the healthcare field or a related area is preferred
- Basic computer skills and typing skills of at least 40 WPM
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Cadence, and Connect care
- Previous healthcare or medical receptionist experience
