      POSITION PURPOSE
      Responsible for processing deposits and loan payments to members' accounts. Balances each day's checks and transactions. Performs specific assigned side jobs and assist others in the New Accounts Department with a variety of duties including filing as required when time allows. Ensures that all transactions are posted correctly and timely.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

      • Sorts received mail and forwards to the correct personnel.
      • Verifies transactions; Monitors deposit and payment amounts; Examines documents for endorsement and negotiability.
      • Posts share deposits and loan payments; Processes all assigned transactions accurately.
      • Receives and processes loan payoffs; Delivers printouts to Title Clerk for further processing regarding title releases.
      • Processes assigned transactions in batches; Balances each batch at the end of the day.
      • Calls dealers to inform them of additional funds needed for short payoffs and to clarify any discrepancies.
      • Scans all checks processed through Check 21 scanner at the end of the day and balances the branch.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Education/Certification:
      High school graduate or equivalent.

      Required Knowledge:
      General knowledge of payment and deposit posting policies and procedures.
      Basic understanding of Credit Union policies.

      Experience Required:
      One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.

      Skills/Abilities:
      Strong communication skills.
      Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
      Good math skills.
      Attention to detail.
      Good typing skills.
      Ability to operate related computer applications and other related business equipment.
      Ability to operate computers, calculators, telephones, and other basic business machines.
