- Lead one Senior Payroll Specialist who resides in Canada.
- Process various payrolls in US and Canada, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Calculate and verify wages, overtime, deductions, and benefits in compliance with Federal, State, Local, and provincial payroll regulations (e.g., CRA, Employment Standards Act).
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, including but not limited to W4s, W2s, T4s, T 2200s, WCB, ROEs, and remittances for taxes, and other statutory deductions.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including timekeeping, leave balances, and benefits administration.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local, and Canadian labor laws, tax regulations.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with the various departments within the company
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Support year-end payroll processes, including audits and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline processes and improve payroll efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in Federal, State, Local, Canadian, and provincial legislation and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years focused on Canadian payroll processing.
- In-depth knowledge of Federal, State, Local, Canadian, and provincial regulations, including Federal guidelines, State guidelines, CRA guidelines, CPP, EI, and provincial tax requirements.
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, or similar systems) is required.
- Familiarity with multi-province payroll processing is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll-related software.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with employees and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Fundamental Payroll Professional (FPC) from the Payroll Organization, or either a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation from the National Payroll Institute is preferred.
