- Analyze, prepare, and input payroll data. Use payroll and time & attendance systems to produce accurate and timely payroll, including garnishments, child support, direct deposit, retirement plan, misc. deductions, and tax withholding updates.
- Ensure accurate payroll and benefit processing.
- Maintain up-to-date labor allocations in payroll system.
- Maintain current knowledge of and ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage laws.
- Resolve payroll problems, respond to inquiries, and enforce payroll policies.
- Process and manage W-2 reporting and review quarterly tax returns for accuracy.
- Complete account reconciliations for payroll and benefit liability accounts.
- Set up interns in ADP for payroll processing
- Process I-9’s for new interns
- Prepare MN Wage Notice
- Receive paper timesheets for interns and process payroll.
- Coordinate delivery options with front desk and counselors.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
- Provide in-person benefit orientation for new hires.
- Establish effective working relationships with benefit brokers and vendors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefit inquiries and issue resolution.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement annual open enrollment.
- Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations..
- Ensure timely communication is sent to third party COBRA administrator.
- Ensure timely remittance of employee and employer contributions.
- Run ADP payroll and benefits reports
- Partner with HR Director during open enrollments – Update benefit changes and set up open enrollment.
- Plan and carry out employee benefit education/awareness in collaboration with benefit broker and vendors.
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws to ensure compliance.
- Review of payroll tax returns, W-2 forms, and other required reports accurately and on time.
- Assist with annual audits related to payroll and benefits.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions, employee benefits, and related documentation.
- Generate reports and analyze data to support decision-making and auditing processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll and benefits administration.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement changes and streamline workflows.
- Administer parking and office access cards for North Loop Office
- Process background checks and I-9’s for new hires.
- Conduct Benefit Orientation for new hires..
- Train new hires in ADP timesheet entries and paid time off requests.
- Set up and maintain personnel files for new hires.
- Periodically cover for front desk receptionist as needed.
- Two years’ post-secondary education and three years’ experience with payroll administration.
- Efficient organizational and planning skills.
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize work.
- Excellent customer service.
- Skill in written and oral communication.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability and willingness to respond constructively to rapid change
- Computer proficiency (especially in Excel and Outlook)
- Previous experience processing payroll in ADP Workforce Now.
- Certified Payroll Profession (CPP)
- Knowledge of grant-funded payroll.

POSITION TITLE: Payroll and Benefits Administrator - Hired offers a hybrid schedule working from home and office. This position is able to work approximately 80% from home and 20% from office.
HIRING RANGE: $28.00 - $29.00 per hour

We are seeking a skilled Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our team and manage all aspects of payroll processing and employee benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, a thorough understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws, and strong organizational skills. This role requires a proactive individual capable of handling confidential information with integrity and accuracy. . This person will work in partnership with the HR Director and Accounting Team.
