- Processing of bi-weekly payroll in a multi-state environment with a high level of attention to detail to ensure team members are paid accurately and efficiently
- Ensure that all payroll changes, benefit elections, and associate data changes are recorded promptly and with proper documentation
- Assist with all post-hire and onboarding activities including new associate setup and benefit administration
- Managing associate data, running reports, and conducting data audits to ensure data integrity
- Processing garnishments, verifications of employment, company filings, etc.
- Create and assure compliance with ACA requirements
- Conducting Payroll year-end processing and close out, including auditing W2/1095 distribution
- Maintaining all required payroll files, records, and documentation, including general filing, as needed
- Acts as Subject Matter Expert in Payroll/Benefit related items for the Company; assists associates at all levels with Payroll/Benefit related requests/questions; assists with various associate payroll/benefit related tasks/projects, as needed.
- Makes recommendations for process improvement using past payroll/benefit experience/expertise and general knowledge of best practices; identifies gaps, where needed.
- Streamlines processes while maintaining checks and balances to eliminate errors
- Ensures compliance with Federal and State payroll, benefits and HR legal/compliance regulations and best practices (i.e., wage & hour, benefits, 401K, tax, etc.)
- Validate, verify, and approve all benefit invoices prior to payment
- Assist with the annual benefit open enrollment lifecycle
- Assist with internal and external audits as necessary
- Resolves payroll discrepancies
- Provides excellent internal customer service in person, via email, on phone, or video
- Back up team members when needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Four-year college degree or two-year associate degree preferred with related degree.
- Requires a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in payroll administration in a multi-state environment. Benefits administration experience preferred.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
- Must have working knowledge of office equipment (i.e., copier, fax, scanner, calculator, etc.)
- Strong organization/planning, verbal/written, multi-tasking and time management skills are vital
- Must possess attention to detail, demonstrated decision making, self-motivation and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.
