What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Receive and audit timesheets for all district employees, calculating wages, salaries, hours worked, overtime pay, and determining withholdings and deductions
- Maintain payroll registers and employee payroll information in accordance with state, federal, and district requirements
- Prepare and post payroll changes, including deductions, salary changes, terminations, and new employee information
- Compile and maintain reports and records, including payroll records and absent-from-duty reports
- Respond to requests for employment verification from financial institutions while maintaining confidentiality
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma
- 1-2 years of payroll experience
- Knowledge of basic payroll procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 1-2 years of experience working within a school district Payroll Accounting Department
- Working knowledge of Skyward Accounting software
