- Deliver accurate and effective payrolls, ensuring salaries, expenses, and deductions are paid on time.
- Maintain payroll information on iTrent, our HR and payroll system, ensuring all data is up to date and accurate by the monthly cut-off.
- Coordinate pension-related aspects of the payroll process, including auto-enrolment, contribution changes, and opt-outs.
- Manage employee payroll queries through email, Jira (our case management portal), and phone.
- Identify and escalate any system or process issues and suggest potential improvements.
- Manage court orders, assessments, payments, and remittances in line with legislation.
- Provide employees with monthly Epayslips, EP45s, P60s, and P11Ds.
- Ensure the timely settlement of monthly payroll taxes (PAYE and NIC).
- Collaborate with the Finance and HR teams to review payroll prior to release and provide payroll-related journal postings.
- Reconcile and report on all pension schemes, including NHS and NOW pensions, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Be a key contact for HMRC and other external stakeholders.
- Process complex absence cases (e.g., long-term sickness, maternity) to ensure accurate payroll calculations.
- Act as a key stakeholder in payroll projects and system integrations, assisting with data gathering, process design, and testing.
- Provide support and cover for other team members and their payrolls as required.
