      Job Description:

      The University at Albany Office of Human Resources seeks a Payroll Manager (Assistant for University Financial Analysis, SL-4) to join our administration team in Albany, NY. The Payroll Manager will provide timely payroll administration and support services to the University at Albany faculty, staff, and student employees while serving as a key leader within the Office of Human Resources.

      The position reports to the Associate Director for HR Operations. It will include overseeing and supervising the processing of payroll, administering pay policies, time records, and all aspects of the calendar and fiscal year payroll activities for approximately 5,500 University employees. The manager ensures that payroll services are consistent and compliant with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      Under the general direction of the Associate Director for HR Operations, manages and leads a payroll team in effectively administering payroll and time and attendance administration to approximately 5500 University employees as required by law, established policies, and/or negotiated agreements.

      Professional Rank and Salary Range: Assistant for University Financial Analysis, SL-4; $80,000-85,000.
