- Process bi-monthly expatriate and shadow payrolls in Workday. Coordinate with International Payroll, HR, Benefits and Compensation in the collection and transmittal of key data to produce payroll. Prepare and load data into Workday (EIBs) as needed. Prepare audit reports and reconciliations to support the validation and finalization of payroll.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax reconciliations, maintain Workday tax setup, complete state/local tax registrations and process quarterly amendments.
- Work with third party vendor to track, research and resolve tax notices.
- Support new hire, expat, and secondee payroll setup tasks including auditing employee state/local set-up, collection of tax forms, and answering employee inquiries.
- Respond to employee inquiries for payroll related issues.
- Participate in various ad-hoc and routine projects and requests as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or another business-related field
- Strong functional Payroll knowledge with 3+ years processing multi-state payroll in a complex business environment
- Experience using Workday Payroll
- Familiar with multi-state payrolls, state and federal tax registrations, tax notices and resolution
- Familiar with reading and interpreting tax legislation
- Experience with Global Mobility concepts and/or processing of business travelers
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret payroll data and share results in a meaningful manner
- Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills to answer employee inquiries at all levels and liaise with our tax team and external accounting consultants
- Flexible and able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; high sense of urgency and attention to detail and maintaining confidentiality
Payroll SpecialistJob Function Summary
We are in search of a Payroll Specialist that will work in a team environment that supports the production of Americas and expatriate payroll for over 2,000 employees in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. The Payroll Specialist will report to the Americas Payroll Manager and working within the payroll team will process payroll for our mobile employees (employees on assignment and business trips) and process payroll reporting for US Citizens working locally in an international location. In addition, the Payroll Specialist will prepare periodic tax reconciliations and work with our third-party vendor in tax registrations and tax notices. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with teams across International Payroll, HR, Benefits, Compensation as well as partners in Finance and Legal in the production of payroll and support special projects and partner department requests.
