Job Description

- Act as a point of contact for system-related issues
- Execute high volume business processes, audits, and transactions
- Create and maintain reports from Workday and other systems
- Performs maintenance on payroll updates and is responsible for testing new or changed payroll functionality
- Complete assigned per pay period payroll reporting and data reconciliations timely
- Ability to identify issues and demonstrate curiosity to investigate and resolve
- Identify opportunities for process improvement
- Maintain process documentation
- Provides cross-training to the Payroll team regarding relevant topics
- Stays up to date with laws and regulation changes and how they affect the payroll system
- Support Payroll management and team members with projects and other tasks as required
- Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred. An appropriate combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- Previous experience processing high volume, multi-state payroll for a mid to large size company for US and Canada
- Previous experience with Workday Payroll preferred
- Knowledge of current payroll related laws and regulations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word)
- Able to work with minimal supervision, coordinates with others and prioritizes tasks
- Able to work in a high growth environment under tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment
The Overview:
The Payroll System Specialist will work collaboratively with the Payroll team and management to ensure efficient payroll processes while staying compliant with all regulations and policies. This individual will assist on payroll projects and process improvement opportunities. This individual will assist in troubleshooting payroll system and reporting updates, issues, and inquiries. This individual may also work with partners in Accounting, Human Resources, Third Party Vendors, and other internal departments on various initiatives.
