What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide support for ongoing payroll and payroll tax operational activities
- Run reports and analyze employee-level tax data, making necessary adjustments
- Review escalated employee tax cases to provide excellent customer service and resolve issues
- Collaborate with third-party payroll tax processors to maintain accurate account information
- Conduct payroll tax audits and ensure compliance with IRS and state/local laws
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2+ years of payroll tax or payroll experience, or an advanced degree
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in data entry and payroll systems
- Ability to work independently while being part of a team
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience using Workday payroll software
- Familiarity with ADP payroll processing systems
- Knowledge of Puerto Rico taxation and W-2 reporting
- Experience in handling payroll tax compliance issues
- Previous involvement in process improvement initiatives within payroll operations
