General Summary/Responsibilities:
The PCA will work under the direct supervision of a certified clinical team member (Certified MA, LPN) The PCA when directed by the provider, will independently perform procedures which may include administration of injections, pulmonary function tests, ear irrigations, apply hot/cold packs, EKGs, breathing treatment, x-rays, lab testing, Holter monitoring, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing, and vision tests, etc. The PCA will collect appropriate patient history and current medical information including chief complaint, current medication list, vital signs, and enter this data into the appropriate rooming tab. The PCA will maintain examination areas including cleaning, and ensure medical supplies and equipment are cleaned and stocked. The PCA will handle telephone encounters and prescription refills according to accepted standards of care under direct supervision of the provider/s. The PCA will uphold and maintain behavioral standards for Premier Physician Network, including Customer Service and Teamwork Standards.
Essential Duties & Functions:
1. Rooming of patients (vitals signs/ physical examination needs)
2. Ensure appropriate clinical documentation is compliant with Ambulatory Care Standards
3. Enter/completion of Prescription refills
4. Successful Injection administration (to include drawing up/performance)5.Assist with basic procedures (under direct supervision of provider/s) may include (but not limited to)
specialty specific care needs
6. Ensure appropriate patient communication/education in accordance with Premier Proud standards
7. Ability to problem solve
8. EKG’s
9. Exam room set up/tear down
10. Work in a collaborative environment
The PCA will devote appropriate time to complete the PCA to Certified MA training:
• Attend monthly training sessions
• Complete assignments by given due dates
• Successfully complete skills assessments
• Any identified additional training as requiredEducation
Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GEDLicensure/Certification/Registration
