Description:
Position Summary
Plans, lays outs, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and fabrication engineering drawings from basic layouts, establishing references, and standard data for Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and Printed Wiring Boards (PWB) designs artifacts. Utilizes computer-aided design graphic tools such as, Mentor, Allegro or DX Designer. Completes details of major layout drawings in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices, as well as industry specifications.
Primary Functions
• Layout of PWBs and CCAs with component placement, interconnect routing and drawing generation
• Creating, documenting and generating the required electronic data file outputs for fabrication and manufacturing
• Responsible to interface with Mechanical and Electrical engineers to work through mechanical fitment and electrical component placement and routing challenges for rigid, flex assemblies, and rigid-flex assemblies
• Responsible for designs including System in Package (SiP), High Density Interconnect (HDI), high speed routing including DDR4, complex analog, RF and high speed SERDES
• Understand technical theories of electrical and mechanical behavior of PCBs to influence layout decisions. i.e. Impedance matching, differential pairs, HDI technology challenges, strains and stresses, orientations of components, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with co-workers and conduct design reviews with a team of engineers

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Typical Education / Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Relevant trade courses or certificates amounting to 2 years of related field training
• 8 Years of minimum experience. 10 Years preferred.
Basic Qualifications
• Familiarity with industry wide Specifications/Guidelines for Electrical CCA & PWB design and manufacture
• Experienced with:
o Mentor Xpedition
o Designer (DxDesigner)
o AutoCAD or similar CAD package
Preferred Additional Skills desired but not required
o XDM/DMS Library Tools
o NPI Manufacture software
o Cadence Allegro is a plus
