Job Title: PCB Layout Designer

Job Description

Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to develop layout strategies for complex multi-layer boards incorporating RF, high-speed digital, and analog components. Work closely with board shops and contract manufacturers to ensure the successful closure of Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Assembly (DfA), and Design for Test (DfT) processes. Generate PCB output files for board shops and contract manufacturers, including ODB++, Gerber, assembly drawings, fabrication notes, and drill files. Ensure proper handoff between electronic CAD and mechanical CAD, while maintaining the PCB design flow.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with board shops and contract manufacturers to ensure successful closure of DfM, DfA, and DfT processes.
• Generate PCB output files for board shops and contract manufacturers.
• Ensure proper handoff between electronic CAD and mechanical CAD.
• Maintain PCB design flow.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Proficiency in layout software such as Cadence DHL Schematic Capture and Allegro Layout.
• Deep understanding of RF, high-speed digital, and analog component layout.
• Strong knowledge of electrical constraint sets principles and their application using Allegro Constraint Manager.
• Familiarity with Allegro scripting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• IPC circuit board designer certification (CID or CID+).
• Knowledge and experience in schematic symbol and PCB footprint design.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
