      Job summary

Step into a role where no two days feel the same. One morning you could be managing a wound dressing and supporting a patient newly diagnosed with hypertension; by afternoon, you're running cervical screening or helping someone understand their cardiovascular risks.

As a PCN Nurse within Worcester City's Primary Care Network, you'll be part of a close-knit, forward-thinking team delivering essential clinical care across nine GP practices. Whether you're administering immunisations, offering lifestyle advice, or leading on infection control, you'll play a key role in helping patients feel safe, informed, and empowered in their health journeys.

You'll work within a team that values compassion and professionalism, while supporting colleagues across the multidisciplinary team. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-facing setting, bringing confidence in core nursing skills with a curiosity to keep learning.

If you're passionate about high-quality care, enjoy varied clinical work, and want to make a difference in a community you'll get to know well. This is your opportunity to grow and thrive within a supportive PCN setting.

      Main duties of the job

      • Provide hands-on clinical care including wound management, suture removal, and dressing changes

      • Carry out screening checks such as blood pressure, BMI, urinalysis, and new patient assessments

      • Support the delivery of national health campaigns from cervical screening to cardiovascular checks

      • Administer vaccinations and injections safely under PGDs or prescription, and manage vaccine storage

      • Offer personalised lifestyle advice to patients around smoking, nutrition, exercise, and weight management

      • Provide clear, supportive information to patients on men's and women's health topics, including self-examination guidance

      • Promote and maintain excellent infection control standards across all clinical areas

      • Play a key role in safeguarding recognising signs of abuse and following local procedures

      • Support chronic disease management through routine monitoring and health promotion

      • Respond confidently to emergencies, using skills in basic life support and anaphylaxis management

      • Mentor healthcare support staff, contribute to audits, and support the development of good practice

      • Keep thorough, accurate patient records using clinical systems and communicate clearly with the wider team

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
