Job Description
- Req#: 2386
- Possess a high level of integrity, and be able to manage sensitive or confidential information.
- Capacity to make sound decisions and escalate issues as appropriate to management.
- Must be detail oriented, be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Demonstrate verbal and written and basic computer skills.
- Available for all tours and hours of work assignments.
- Ability to work at either Belmont Park OR Aqueduct Racetrack.NYRA’s Security Department does not assign tours specific to certain days or shift.
- Shifts are comprised of weekdays, weekends and holidays.
- NYRA’s Security Department employees are considered essential employees.
- The Security Department operates around the clock seven days per week (24/7).
- Willing and able to stand for long hours and work outdoors in all kinds of weather(examples:rain, sleet, snow and extreme temperatures).
- You must have either a High School Diploma or a GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to be appointed as a NYRA Peace Officer.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle driver license.
- If you have moving violations, license suspension(s) or an accident record, you may be disqualified. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
- You must consent to and pass a drug test as part of a pre-employment screening process.
Job Overview
NYRA Backstretch Peace Officers provide security for both Aqueduct Racetrack and Belmont Park and must be prepared to work at either location. All Full-Time NYRA Security positions offer union benefits and offer a starting pay rate of $22.00 per hour.
